Don't be silly! I was also rejected from art school And I didn't let that stop me, but then again, my art isn't as awesome as yours T_T

I know it may seem disappointing at first, but...don't let those twats put you off! You have a real talent for drawing there. We have faith in you. Just keep drawing. Maybe they wanted more variation in media or something O_o I can't stand art teacher/lecturer people...They always seem to put people down.

But seriously! Don't let it put you off of drawing. We're all here for you. I am sure you could get into illustration or something at some point if you keep up the art right now. You don't need a degree to send your illustrations off to a publishing company

Art is a very popular course, and there will always be people who are better than you. You probably just missed out this year...I bet if you kept trying, they'd take you in. My friend, who was amazingly awesome at painting, and had a huge portfolio and everything was rejected too. It was such a shame. But she did a year at college and then she got in no trouble O_o

I wouldn't be able to stand art as a degree or anything anyway. Too demanding. I'd rather enjoy my art as it is with out sadoes criticizing it and telling me how bad it is all the time I ended up doing biology. YAY I love my bio

I hope that you find something to cheer you up soon...Don't give up on your art...It'd be such a waste of obvious talent. KEEP GOING!! HANG IN THERE!! I wish you all the best

thank you so so much for your lovely post, it really means a lot. initially i wanted to do fine art for a route to art therapy, but later it became more than that. i think my stuff is too focussed on animals, and i dont think they like ponies XD
i am applying to another uni, not as good as the one i was rejected from. i dont mind rejection, it is how they deal it to you and i wasnt happy with it.
i suppose art is subjective and enjoyment is more important. just need to rethink careers lol

Oh dear, I'm so sorry that you got rejected All I can do is stating sympathy and saying that you shouldn't overreact on this occurence. Calista's post says everything there is to say, I couldn't agree more to her.
Please don't let such things knock you down, be they as frustrating and sad as they are. Please keep on doing art, do it for yourself! If you enjoy doing it than everything is all right! Of course it's so sad that your dream seems not to come true, but try to make the best of it and look positively towards the future, promise that to me, dear! We all have our disappointments, but they are necessesary for us to appreciate joy. Try to take the situation in and reflect on your options for the future... even if art is no more an option, please don't give it up and please don't leave DA... it's so sad when people give up things they love because of one bad occurence... I wish you all the best for that.

School's do not know anything. When I started in colledge I took a couple of art classes..they all want us to be like the "classical" painters and so on rather then just ourselves.

So when we do our own thing we are not good enough

Yep, I've had the same thing going on as well . Heh! I wrote an entire DA journal on it, except I turned it into more of a joke to help me remember it and reflect on it better!

But do cheer up, life always has and always will have it's ups and downs, and right now, you've experienced one of the 100,000 downs! (lol ) But hey! You never what the future holds, we cane only embrace it to the full and accept what comes from it.
